Matt Towery Praises Ron Paul
Posted by Eric F. Langborgh on 11 Oct 2007 at 09:32 amWonders never cease. When I saw the title of Matt Towery’s article at Townhall.com this morning — “Too Many Candidates, Too Many Debates, Too Few Answers” — I thought, “Uh oh, here’s another tired attempt by the establishment to silence Ron Paul and narrow the field to 3 or 4 “legitimate” candidates. (BTW, on that score, see my “The Major Media’s Despicable Attempts to Pre-Crown the King (or Queen)“) Believe it or not, though, a Townhall.com neo-con is praising Dr. Paul! And Towery does it while trashing the establishment candidates:
“Second, isn’t it time everyone owns up to the fact that — had he not been labeled “a nut” by the establishment early on — Ron Paul is by far the most interesting candidate in the entire GOP field? Don’t these other guys get it that repeating the same old tired phrases about “economic growth” and “free markets” is just driving their most conservative base into fits of rage?
“I have never seen a bigger cast of one-inch deep characters in my life as we have in both parties this time…”
“…Under those rules — and I can’t believe I’m saying this — Ron Paul would likely eat everyone’s lunch. That’s a statement that would send shivers up the spine of Washington’s self-appointed political elite.”
