I tweeted about this speech. Putin is clearly no communist. Does he suffer from the typical “Russia as world messiah” nationalism? Yes. But you know that going in with those guys. Medvedev has reintroduced Christianity into the public square.

Times are definitely VERY strange.

The Barr interview lasts maybe 20-25 minutes.

Although I don’t particularly care for Lofton’s personal style, (calling Dr. Bahnsen, calling Dr. Greg Bahnsen), I can’t fault him for unashamedly pressing the claims of Christ with a fellow believer who is running for the nation’s highest office.

Barr’s responses were, shall I say, “less than satisfying” for this Christian _l_ibertarian.

Perhaps, but I just can’t get motivated to work the grassroots for him like I did for Ron Paul. Like I said, if the situation warrants it, I may vote for him. But I’m just not enthusiastic at this point.

But of course. Barr’s past is what it is. However, I give him a Mulligan because he committed political suicide with the party. You don’t do that if you’ve really turned.

I'm generally in favor of DOMA, but it is not a deciding issue for me. After all, I think Ron Paul was against it on federalist grounds. My lack of excitement for Barr stems from things in his past, such as a few mentioned in this article. But, who knows. If he has a real shot at taking, say, 10% of the vote, I may join in support of Barr just for the message it would send. But short of that it will either be Baldwin or writing in Ron Paul.

Bob Barr never promised to repeal DOMA. He’s always said it was for the states to decide individually. I, too, was very tempted to jump on the Barr bandwagon but for the same reason, am loath to do so.

We have been toying with it as well, but after watching part of the LP presidential debates on C-SPAN last week, it will definitely be a no go for us. Everyone on that stage was totally libertine—and Barr even promised to work to repeal DOMA. What a shame.
